Air traffic control for AI coding

Nool with Claude Code

Claude Code can implement terminal tasks while Nool preserves the repository-level memory and impact analysis that survives session boundaries.

  • Check status and recent history before each session.
  • Record reusable findings during implementation.
  • Compute blast radius before accepting the change.
nool status --compact

Before the session

Start every Claude Code mission by checking whether the DAG is linear, whether another proposal is pending, and what work was last sealed.

nool status --compact

Give Claude Code a bounded mission

Use Nool to record the intent before the agent starts editing, especially when the task says what must not change.

nool announce intent --intent "Expand docs pages without adding new marketing URLs"

After implementation

Run tests, compute blast radius, create a proposal with a concrete intent, and solidify only after the changed paths match the mission.

nool debug blast-radius src/pages/Docs.tsx src/locales/en/translation.json --compact

Practical lesson

Claude Code is strong at long terminal workflows. The failure mode is not weak code generation; it is losing the original boundary after many fixes. Nool keeps the boundary outside the transient chat session.
