Air traffic control for AI coding

Multi-Agent Orchestration

Split a goal into tasks that run as parallel agents, each in its own branch, landed in dependency order and checked together. Watch and steer the fleet while it runs.

  • Run a goal as a fleet with nool code --fleet.
  • Watch it with nool fleet status; steer it with nool fleet ctl.
  • Pair a builder with a cross-vendor reviewer quorum.
nool code --fleet "add search to the docs site"

Why it matters

One agent works through a goal one file at a time. A fleet splits the goal into tasks with disjoint scopes, runs them at the same time as separate agents, and lands each one only after it passes its own completion check, then checks the combined result once more.

Run a goal as a fleet (Team)

nool code --fleet asks a coordinator to plan the goal into tasks, shows you the plan, and runs each task as a child nool code session in its own try branch. Tasks land in dependency order as they finish, and one integrated check runs on the combined tree.

  • --fleet-task id=paths[@deps][: instruction] gives the tasks yourself instead of planning
  • --reviewer adds a reviewer model per task; !model makes its denial a veto
  • --width caps how many agents run at once; by default it is sized to this machine
nool code --fleet "add search to the docs site" --reviewer openrouter:openai/gpt-5.5

Watch a running fleet

nool fleet ps lists the fleets running in the repository. nool fleet status shows a fleet's pools, routes and tasks: each task's phase, where it runs, what it has spent and why it stopped. It reads a finished fleet from its log too.

nool fleet ps
nool fleet status

Steer it without restarting

nool fleet ctl changes a running fleet: cancel a task (what depends on it is skipped), retry a task's agent from the start without using one of its retries, or move a task to another pool. Inside nool code, /fleet status, /fleet task … and /fleet pool … do the same.

nool fleet ctl task retry search-index
nool fleet ctl task cancel docs-copy

Run agents on cloud machines too

--pool spreads a fleet across this machine and cloud sandboxes. See Fleets across machines for pools, routing and how cloud agents reach their model without your API key.

nool code --fleet "…" --pool local:4 --pool modal:4

A builder and a reviewer quorum

For a single risky change, nool fleet start pairs one builder agent with reviewers from different vendors. A high-trust reviewer's denial is a binding veto, and the quorum tightens as blast radius grows. nool fleet advise recommends a shape before anything is spent.

nool fleet advise --task api=src/api/ --blast 12
nool fleet start --builder agents/builder.yaml --reviewer agents/reviewer-a.yaml --intent "Add a validate_email helper"
