Install Nool

Install the Nool CLI locally and verify the release artifact before using it to govern AI-authored code changes in an existing Git repository.

  • macOS (Apple Silicon only; Intel Macs are not supported yet) and Linux use the shell installer.
  • Windows uses the PowerShell installer or WSL Linux installer.
  • Release checksums are published for artifact verification.

macOS and Linux

Use the shell installer for supported Unix environments. The installer downloads the current release artifact and places the Nool CLI on your path. On macOS the installer supports Apple Silicon only; Intel Macs are not supported yet.

Windows PowerShell

Use the PowerShell installer on Windows. For WSL, use the Linux installer inside the WSL distribution.

Verify the binary and release

After install, confirm the CLI version first. In controlled environments, also compare the downloaded artifact against its SHA256 checksum before first use.
